Jaqua Buzz and Beauty Secrets!

Jaqua is Voted #1 Hand Cream!!!

Our Best Selling Hand Creme is #1 AGAIN!

Holding, typing, styling, high-fiving … your hands go through a lot on a daily basis. But they usually end up at the bottom of the totem pole that is our beauty routine. Even though we spend hundreds on anti-aging face serums and new and improved heat protectants for our hair, it's easy to forget that our hands also show signs of aging -- even more so than our faces.

Forget the crow's feet, under eye bags, and fine lines; it's the dark spots, veins, and loose skin on your hands that are a dead giveaway to the real number of candles on your birthday cake. Add in dryness from frequent washings and rough patches from touching a variety of surfaces, and it's enough to make you weary to shake hands with a stranger or show off that new manicure. We think it's high time you turned things around and showed your hands some love, and a quality hand cream is the perfect place to start.

With the help of our trusty Total Beauty reviewers, we rounded up the six hand creams that'll leave your hands soft and younger-looking … and the six that were downright greasy and even headache inducing.

TotalBeauty.com average reader rating: 9.7*

Why: One reader raves, "This hand lotion is by far the best I have tried. The really astonishing part is how well it moisturizes and how amazing your hands will feel. They become so soft and smooth it really is the best hand cream I have ever tried." Other readers agree that, "This hand lotion not only works great but it can also curb your sweet tooth. A little goes a LONG way and I am always complimented on this wonderful lotion."

Sweets for your Sweet on Valentines day!

Valentines day...Our Favorite Day of LOVE!! Where does it come from? Who made it our National Day of Chocolates and Roses?

Saint Valentine's Day, commonly known as Valentine's Day, or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is observed on February 14 each year. It is celebrated in many countries around the world, although it remains a working day in most of them. It is the second most celebrated holiday around the world second to New Year's Day.
St. Valentine's Day began as a liturgical celebration of one or more early Christian saints named Valentinus. The most popular martyrology associated with Saint Valentine was that he was imprisoned for performing weddings for soldiers who were forbidden to marry and for ministering to Christians, who were persecuted under the Roman Empire; during his imprisonment, he is said to have healed the daughter of his jailer Asterius. Legend states that before his execution he wrote "from your Valentine" as a farewell to her.

Today, Saint Valentine's Day is an official feast day in the Anglican Communion, as well as in the Lutheran Church. The Eastern Orthodox Church also celebrates Saint Valentine's Day, albeit on July 6th and July 30th, the former date in honor of the Roman presbyter Saint Valentine, and the latter date in honor of Hieromartyr Valentine, the Bishop of Interamna (modern Terni).

The day was first associated with romantic love in the circle of Geoffrey Chaucer in the High Middle Ages, when the tradition of courtly love flourished. By the 15th century, it had evolved into an occasion in which lovers expressed their love for each other by presenting flowers, offering confectionery, and sending greeting cards (known as "valentines").Valentine's Day symbols that are used today include the heart-shaped outline, doves, and the figure of the winged Cupid. Since the 19th century, handwritten valentines have given way to mass-produced greeting cards.

Jaqua Beauty's 13 Tips And Sinfully Rich Ways To Combat Cold Dry Wintery Skin in 2013!

As the winter chill enters the air, you will probably notice subtle changes in your skin. Seasonal changes in temperature and the lower humidity can trigger dryness and ashiness.
Cold winter air and harsh winds draws moisture out of the skin, and many of the things we do during the winter to keep warm can also contribute to this dryness.

All us gals, and a few guys :-) here at Jaqua Beauty, & Jaqua Bath and Body love these tips to help keep your skin well hydrated, soft and smooth through the winter season. Along with our great products we can help keep your skin stay happy, smooth, and always touchable.

1. Hydrate the Skin. Be sure to keep the skin hydrated to alleviate dryness and itchiness. We use a combination of our Pacific Pomelo Dry Oil Spray as soon as we exit the shower to lock in hydration! Make sure you don't miss your back and shoulders.

2. Be Gentle. Use gentle products, formulated for dry skin and that are alcohol free to avoid further drying out the skin. All of our Jaqua Beauty products are alcohol free and formulated with nourishing butters and and vitamin and fruit extracts for extra healing and moisturizing

3. Shorten Bath Time. Take shorter showers and baths. Long showers and soaking in the tub too long can strip the skin of natural oils. Try to keep baths and showers to 15 minutes or less.

4. Moisturize When Needed. Moisturize whenever skin feels dry and itchy. Use the nighttime hours to
treat yourself to moisturizing facial and body masques. Moisturize dry hands and feet with moisturizing butters like Shea butter. We love our Pacific Pomelo Body Butter with Shea Butter, lazish on your hands and feet and cover with cotton gloves and socks overnight.

5. Stop Getting Into Hot Water. Shower and bath in lukewarm water. It’s tempting to take long hot showers and baths, but hot water will also rob the skin of moisture. To lock moisture into the skin after bathing, do not completely towel dry. Pat skin with a towel to absorb excess water and apply moisturizer while the skin is still damp. Again, we love our Jaqua Spa Dry Oil Sprays. Formulated with Shea butter they lock in moisture and keep your skin smooth and hydrated all day without feeling greasy.

6. Don't Over-Cleanse. Don’t wash the face more than once or twice a day. Try cleansing the face at night when you have the most grime, environmental pollutants and makeup on the face. Then rinse the face with warm water in the morning and immediately apply a moisturizing face cream with sunscreen. Excessive washing removes the protective lipid layer of the skin’s surface causing it to dry out.

7. Reduce Indoor Heat. The dry indoor heat also contributes to dry skin. Make sure that the temperature of your home is not too hot. Keep the temperature between 68 – 70 degrees. Not only will this help your skin, but it will also help your heating bill as well! And why not have more excusses to cuddle!!

8. Spend Less Time by the Fire. While sitting near fireplaces feels warm and cozy, it also dries out the skin. So enjoy your time by the fire, snuggle even, but try to limit it to save your skin :-)

9. Avoid Wool. Avoid wool sweaters and scarves and other harsh fabrics that rub against the skin and cause dryness. Wear softer, more breathable fabrics like cotton and cashmere.

10. Use Sunscreen. Always use sunscreen in the winter months, even on cloudy, overcast days.

11. Avoid Chapped Skin and Remember the Lips. Put moisturizers and sunscreen on the skin 30 minutes before going out into the cold. Going outside before the creams and lotions absorb into the skin can cause dryness by the liquid evaporating or freezing on the skin contributing to dryness and chapped skin. Don't forget the lips. Wear a moisturizing lipstick or lip balm with SPF.

12. Drink Water. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Even though water does not actually moisturize the skin, it keeps your insides hydrated and helps remove toxins and keep skin cells functioning properly.

13. Eat For Warmth, Healthy and Beauty. Be sure to eat a healthy diet. This season is perfect for warm vegetable-based soups, loaded with vitamins and antioxidants.

We love the winter time. Playing in the snow. big cozy sweaters and boots but we always remember to take care of our skin! Love the skin you are in! Jaqua Beauty
